Transitions Are ChallenginG

Transitions are a part of life. And the worthwhile transitions are rarely easy. When we encounter a period of transition in our lives, we have two options:

  1. Avoid and endure – keep "powering through" out of a sense of obligation
  2. Welcome and embrace – "steer into it" to open a new and fulfilling chapter in our lives
“Rather than trying to find our souls, we might let the soul find us.”
— John O'Donohue

It's often easier to take the first path, though it can leave us feeling empty, bitter, and even regretful. But the second path – as great as it sounds – can feel unrealistic and out-of-reach.

It's OK to get some help. You can enter the next phase of your life's journey, with the Next Chapter Institute as your guide and mentor.

Are you in transition?

The Signs of Transition:

for Individuals

Does this sound like you?

  • Does your work feel unfulfilling? Does it no longer express the person you are becoming? Do you know that you need a career change? Have you lost interest in your work?
  • Do you feel like you have a lack of control over your career? Have you been fired, reassigned, or promoted? Or does it feel like the "Old Way" of doing things no longer working? Is the tried-and-true letting you down?
  • Have you recently experienced a significant loss, such as a divorce or the death of a loved one? Is it causing you to reevaluate other areas of your life? Are strong emotions derailing your leadership or personal life?
  • Is there a creative impulse that is calling you? Impelling you to make a change? Is there a book in you? Something that will foster a deeper connection to yourself and others? Something bigger – something that will leave a legacy?

for Business Leaders

Does this sound like your organization?

  • You want your team to be more aligned to a higher business purpose (sustainability or conscious capitalism, for instance), but you're having trouble "growing people in place?"
  • Are members of your team "distributed" and the challenges of a virtual organization are hindering connections, and establishing important relationships?
  • Is your team new or reconstituted (such as in a consolidation, buyout, or merger) and it's challenging to learn how to work together around new identities and new goals?
  • Or do you find your established team suffering from chronic dysfunction? Is the group or its members having trouble recognizing the fact?

OUR SOLUTION

In order to foster, shelter, and strategically support adult human development – to invite the soul's wise unfolding – we created The Next Chapter Institute to put the modalities of adult development together into a lucid, planful, generous whole. Individuals are prepared for the next stage of their professional and personal lives – and use their knowledge to lead and grow organizations that reflect these values.

Our handcrafted, individualized program includes sophisticated assessments, gifted coaching, somatic grounding, challenging new learning, conversation (and silence), walks in nature – and a cohort to share it with. To move vitally and productively forward, we believe all these pieces are essential, working in concert.
